
So let's focus on why Research is NOT the first thing business owners do. Research is NOT SEXY! I mean, who wants to sit down at a computer, pour over hundreds of spreadsheets and graphs, thousands of lines of data, just to figure out the best way to run your eBay business? Here are some of the reasons that other eBay sellers say that research can be such a daunting task:
1. It's boring
2. It's unnecessary.
3. It's misunderstood / confusing
4. eBay Business Owners don't know where to begin
5. It's difficult
6. It's time consuming
7. It's unsure what to look for
Researching what you want to sell, or what you should sell online can take hours. You need to look at things such as competition in the market you're looking to get into. You also need to be aware of the profit margins of the product you want to sell. Then there is the hardest part of all.....Researching companies that will sell you this product you have decided to sell. You are looking for a 100% legit, wholesale company - perhaps even a drop shipping company. You're looking for your research to be able to guide you through this maze. You have to trust that you have done enough research to a point where you feel your money is safe being spent on the specific product(s) with the specific company(ies) that your research has pointed you to.
